Thirty-two years ago today at Providence Hospital in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Sue gave birth to our son, Simon. Fathers, at that time, paced in out of the way waiting rooms dedicated to this important role. The beauty of Sue holding Simon is permanently in my mind. Like today, the ground was covered with fresh snow. The next morning, before coming in, the untrameled front lawn of the hospital became a giant billboard on which I announced to the world that ‘I LOVE YOU BOTH’.
On this day, repeating it here seems to be one of the best uses for this space.
Mom and I continue to share in the beauty of watching you grow. As you are the expression of our love, your love for your family, for Beth, and for those around you is that love nurtured and grown. With the grace of God, we will all continue to grow and enjoy these blessings.
My love and thanks to both of you,
