Locating people and programs

A while back you wrote a nice program which counted the frequency of the keywords in our data base. Could you modify this program to give us a frequency of Cities/Towns which appear in our mailing list and programs data base files?

I have not yet found the magic answer for aggregating our records according to municipalities and counties. If I get a list of municipalities in each county, we may have to put something together ourselves.

The no-cost, most immediate solution which I have so far is an ASCII file on the way from Municipal Affairs. This file provides a county –
municipality match for all of Ontario.

I spoke with Troung about writing a short program to extract and count the occurrences of municipal names in our programs and mail list data base then to match then against this file. This process will be an approximation only because it will not pull out post office locations
which may not be municipalities, e.g. Willowdale.

However, there is some hope that an accurate solution may be found for the future. Is this a good time to ask the funders for some $ for this?
