When things work

When the things around us work the way we want them to they re-affirm our trust in those who designed, built and procured them.

As alienating as technology can be, it contains the ideas and labour of countless brothers and sisters on this plant,. In that item they are faceless and inanimate. Does the item hide the humanity or worse yet, de-humanize its creator and user? Perhaps we need to look closer at our work with a different eye which is not yet developed. An item of beauty (art) or worth (antique) conveys more easily the spirit of its creator or its user.
