NECC Annual Meeting means fun and food

The North End Community Centre held its annual board meeting last Nov. 12. Unlike most meetings, the NECC affair did not get caught up in official protocol and parliamentary procedure. Instead, the neighborhood residents and friends of the center were invited to the meeting which included a dinner of home-cooked foods.

Slices of pork from a 70 pound roast pig were carved and served to over 75 guests by Poncho Rivera. The meal also included a choice of salads, Spanish chicken and rice, barbecued chicken, baked beans, golumpkies (stuffed cabbage), sausage and meatballs, and a choice of desserts. All of the foods except the pig were donated by residents.
